Position mapping recommendations
Why is Ravio suggesting new position mappings?
Ravio's job catalogue has been updated with more specific and accurate positions. For some employees, this means there's now a better match available than the one they're currently mapped to — either because:
- They previously had no benchmark match and one is now available (unmapped employees)
- Their current position is a legacy position that has been replaced by more granular options
- A more specific position now exists that more closely reflects what they do (better match available)
Ravio reviews each employee against the updated catalogue and surfaces a suggested new mapping. You can decide whether to edit or accept it.
Where do I find positions that need remapping?
When you log in, you'll see a banner on your Analyse Your Company and Position Mapping pages if any employees have mapping updates available.
Click the banner to enter the guided review flow.
How does the review flow work?
The review flow walks you through each affected positions one at a time.
For each position, you'll see:
- The current position
- Ravio's suggested new position mapping
- The employees mapped to this position (when you click into the position)
- The option to accept the suggestion, choose a different position on an employee level from our complete catalogue, or skip for now
Once you've reviewed all position mappings, your changes are saved and employee benchmarks update automatically..png?width=670&height=385&name=image%20(11).png)
Do I have to accept Ravio's suggestion?
No. Ravio's suggestion is a starting point based on the employee's current mapping and position. You know your organisation best – if you think a different position is a closer fit, choose that instead.
You can also skip an employee and come back to them later.
Can I remap employees in bulk?
At present, the review flow is position by position. You can accept all recommendations.

Will remapping affect my compensation data or active reviews?
Remapping an employee updates which benchmark their pay is compared against. This should improve compensation accuracy – but if you're mid-way through a compensation review, you may wish to remap these positions once you’ve completed your review.

What if I can't find the right position in the catalogue?
If none of the available positions seem right, you can search the full job catalogue from within the review flow. If you're still unsure, contact your CSM or reach out to support@ravio.com.
