What is a legacy position?
Ravio periodically updates its job catalogue to make sure positions are as accurate and relevant as possible. As part of the latest update, a small number of positions have been replaced with more granular options that better reflect how jobs are structured.
We call these legacy positions. Employees still mapped to them are highlighted in Ravio as mapped to a legacy position.
If any of your employees are in this category, you'll see a prompt in Ravio asking you to review their mappings. Nothing will break in the meantime – legacy positions continue to work as normal – but we recommend updating mappings as these roles will eventually be deprecated from Ravio.

You can see a current list of Legacy Positions, their planned deprecation dates and the relevant supported positions below. Legacy positions are supported in Ravio for one year before being deprecated.

What happens if I don't update?
Legacy positions will continue to appear in Ravio and your existing benchmarks will remain accessible for one year. However:
- Employees on legacy positions are flagged throughout the product so you always know which mappings need attention
- The most accurate and up-to-date benchmarks are only available once employees are mapped to a supported position
- After one-year, legacy positions will be removed and employees mapped to these positons will need to be remapped to supported positions.
